What do you like about your career?

For being a Sales Engineer like me, I think it is totally fun and very challenging since I love meeting and talking with new people with various attitudes. Moreover, I have many chances to communicate with customers at many levels, from office workers to executive level. Through this, I have enormously obtained and gained new experiences every day. I also have enhanced and improved my communication, negotiation and adaptability skills. All of these skills are what we couldn’t actually learn from any theories, only experiences can be the best lesson for us to become a professional.

You did not graduate from Engineering faculty. How did you learn the technical skills?

At the very beginning of my career, I was worried and thought that I might not be able to do this because I knew nothing about technical things. But after joining the team, I felt really relieved. KEYENCE provides training course to new employees and it starts from a very basic knowledge. Therefore, everyone needs to start learning from zero together. For those who start from zero like me, we might have to spend more time, read books more often than others and might need to practice with our product more often. But, we can do it.

From my perspective, by graduating from non-engineering field is not a big problem to be a Sales Engineer in KEYENCE at all, because I receive much support and help from my team members. You will be happy without getting nervous because everyone is willing to give you advice and always cheer you up. That’s why now I can already answer any question from customers by myself with full confidence.

What do you like about KEYENCE?

After joining and being a part of KEYENCE family, I think I like how KEYENCE culture is and how it works. But the biggest impression when coming to work is the working atmosphere. Everyone at KEYENCE, colleagues to seniors and supervisor are very nice and kind. Everyone supports each other and always be there whenever you need help. Moreover, KEYENCE is a flat organization. So we can talk or share and also voice out our ideas freely to our supervisors. I also like how ‘Work hard and play hard’ KEYENCE is.
